What is Climate Change?

We’ve referenced climate change on Well Prepared before. Climate Change is defined as a change in weather patterns that last for an extended period of time. These time periods can last from just decades to millions of years. This change can refer to average weather conditions, or longer time variations for average conditions. According to science, climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions.

Some certain human activities have been said to cause recent climate change — often referred to as “global warming” or “extreme weather” — findings that many people have been debating for decades.

Survival in Changing Weather

So how do you survive these changes, whether they’re short or long term? Here are some quick tips for surviving in a changing world:

  • Clean Water – When it comes to surviving natural disasters, nothing is more important for the human body than clean water. Keeping water clean and pure is not always easy, but it’s necessary for our survival. Water shortages can occur at anytime.
  • Food Storage – In an emergency, we always recommend storing a certain amount of food away so that you and your family are prepared and aren’t left literally fighting for your survival amid a global food shortage.
  • Self-sustained electricity – One of the most overlooked ways to survive is maintaining your own electricity so you can power things like your refrigerator, heaters, and other things that can improve your chances of survival. Many renewable energy sources can assist in keeping you well prepared for the possibility of an EMP attack or another power grid tragedy.

These are just a few ways to ensure your survival, but we’ll be covering many more ways to come out on top in a disaster, so be sure to subscribe to our blog or social networks to stay informed!
