Make Emergency Kits more handy

There are a variety of emergency kits available, and you can find quite a few useful things in your kits that are targeted toward your own particular prepping needs. However, there are some additional tools your kits may or may not lack that would be wise to add to make sure you’re prepared for virtually any scenario.

Additional Emergency Kit tools

Consider a pair of scissors, a can opener, and a few backup lighters (you can get these pretty cheap at almost any store or gas station) or matches. It would also be a good idea to pack extra LED flashlights and some extra batteries. Other things you may want to consider include:

  • extra bags of coal
  • emergency candles
  • extra duct tape (check out out survivalist uses for duct tape)
  • compass or GPS
  • knife with sharpening stone
  • garbage and sandwich bags
  • whistles
  • extra tent pieces
  • rope
  • pencils/pens
  • paper
  • money

These are just a few ideas for things you can add. Tell us some of your own ideas in the comments below or on our social networks!
