When it comes to survival, it’s important to be able to have a way to replenish supplies that you need without the convenience of a store that may not be readily available. Soap is an excellent example. It goes without saying that staying clean is very important. In addition to maintaining a healthy supply of water, you are going to need soap in order to stave off any problems or sicknesses caused by being filthy.

Making Soap Out of Coffee

It’s a little known fact that you can make soap out of coffee. This also means that you’ll have a healthy soap since coffee can act as a way to detoxify the body. Using the following ingredients and recipe makes it easy:

  • 25 grams of Instant Coffee Powder (alternatively you can use grounded coffee beans)
  • 50 ml of Milk
  • 100 ml of Vegetable Oil
  • 150 grams of Lye
  • 400 ml of Water

 
First, heat the vegetable oil at 120 degree Fahrenheit, and then add the liquid lye to the oil mixture. Let the mixture cook on low with lid covered for 45mnts to an hour. When the desired consistency is achieved, add the coffee powder and milk; mix well before putting the mixture into your soap molds.
