Would you know what to do if you were dropped in the middle of nowhere with only the clothes on your back and a knife on your belt? Or if you found yourself in an unexpected situation such as a flood, a wildfire, or even a terrorist attack? Could you build a shelter, find water and food, and live without the comfort of modern society?
Like most of us, especially in the cities, we often wonder how well we’d survive in the face of such danger, and if we’d be able to do everything from the seemingly basic like starting a fire to the arguably more complex, like first aid. If you’re also like most of us, you are probably in need of a little bit of help. Luckily, in addition to online resources such as Well Prepared, there are a handful of “survival schools” out there that teach primitive skills like flint knapping (making tools out of stone) and other skills that the prepper can benefit from having.
Many of these survival schools will teach you how to live in the wild as our ancestors did centuries ago. This can be vitally important in a variety of scenarios, and can especially in the worst of possible worst case cenarios — a post-apocalyptic society where skills such as these will be imperative to human continuation.
