The DuraFlo™ Water Purification Filter - used in the AquaBrick™ Water Filtration System - sets the new standard in water filtration. The DuraFlo™ has been tested and proven by independent water laboratories to remove virus, bacteria, giardia, crytosporidium and other water borne toxins and chemicals, providing purified drinking water from any non-salt water source.
The water DuraFlo™ purifier's "End of Life" testing was established at 550 gallons for removal of virus, 700 gallons for removal of bacteria, giardia and other water borne toxins and chemicals. DuraFlo™ Water Purification Filter also removes heavy metals, such as lead, fluoride, chlorine, industrial waste, toxic chemicals and many other pollutants you don't want to be drinking. We use our AquaBrick® everyday and avoid tap water completely, providing us perfectly clean potable water!
Sagan water purifiers meet or exceed United States EPA Water Quality Standards. Visit AquaVeritas.org for more information on the water filter you use.
The DuraFlo™ Water Filter Replacement works with any candlestick style water filters, such as Katadyn®, Aqua Pur®, Doulton® and the Berkey® water filter.
Weight of filter - 4 oz
The DuraFlo™ filter has been through “End of Useful Life” testing. This simply means the filter has been challenged every 25 gallons with a new massive dose of all the contaminants the water filter manufacturer claims the water filter will remove. These include as bacteria, virus and giardia/cryptosporidium. This testing process is repeated every 25 gallons until the water filter fails to meet the EPA Water Quality Standards – hence “End of Life”.
The DuraFlo™ Water Purification Filter was tested by an independent water laboratory until the filter failed to meet the EPA Standards for Micro water purifiers.
The EPA standards for removal of micro-organisms from water are shown in percentage reduction as well as the water quality standard of “Log reduction”
Bacteria: 99.9999% 6 log reduction
Virus: 99.99% 4 log reduction
Giardia/Cryptosporidium 99.9% 3 log reduction
The DuraFlo™ Water Filter achieved the EPA Standards for the stated number of gallons:
Bacteria: 700 gallons
Giardia/Cryptosporidium: 700 Gallons
Virus: 550 Gallons
All test results are available on our website.
HYDRADYNE TECHNOLOGY. All water has what is known as “surface tension”. This is caused by the molecules which make up water being more densely packed together at the surface due to the stronger inter-molecular forces at work. The Dyne level is a way of measuring the surface tension or ‘force’ of water.
Everyday tap water has a surface tension measured in Dynes of about 72 dynes. Our cells absorb water at approximately 45 dynes. This means that before our bodies can actually absorb and use the water we take into our systems, it has to expend energy to break down the surface tension from 72 dynes to about 45 dynes.
Due to the ionic properties of the Sagan Journey and DuraFlo Filters, the structure of the water is changed, so the surface tension is reduced from say, 72 dynes to approximately 52 dynes. What that means is for your body to absorb the water, it only has to reduce the surface tension by 7 more dynes in order for it to be absorbed into your cells. This reduction in surface tension is what allows you to absorb more nutrients and hydrate up to 50% faster from water which has passed through the Sagan Journey and DuraFlo filters. We call this our Hydradyne technology. Click here to see our independent Dyne Reduction Lab Test.
The DuraFlo™ Water Filter was tested to remove the chemicals typically found in a non-salt water, residential swimming pool. It met the established standards for removal of the chemicals for up to 500 gallons.
The DuraFlo™ Water Filter flows up to 9.5 gallons per hour through a gravity fed system, or up to 45 gallons of clean potable water per hour as part of the AquaBrick® Water Filter System.
Comparable flow rates for other gravity fed systems are about 1.75 gallons of per hour, per filter.
The DuraFlo™ Water Filter can be:
You can also not over tighten the filter when installing it in the water container, which can happen with traditional “candle stick filters”.
Other types of “candle stick filters” which are typically made of carbon and/or ceramic, will crack if frozen or dropped which makes the filter unusable.
The DuraFlo™ Water Purification Filter can be used and then stored for long periods of time. Simply rinse the filter off with clean water and allow it to dry.
